Dance Dance Revolution: Festival

On November 18th, Konami will release several Bemani titles for the JPS2, including DDR Festival: Dance Dance Revolution. We'll have more info on this new game as it comes along.

Update: DDR Festival has vanished from the release schedule linked above. It's not known now if its listing was a mistake or not. Stay tuned as more info comes along.

Update by Cutriss: Well, it's official again, since Konami now has a dedicated webpage for DDR Festival. Release date is still marked as November 18th.

I think it's a safe bet that the Festival will include all of the new things from the US version of Extreme, like Eye Toy support, and some new exclusive songs as well.

Wow, awesome. While I'm happy to see a new DDR coming out in Japan (if only to show that it's not a completely dead franchise in the land of its birth), but I'm freakin' ecstatic to see IIDX 8th Style on there. Isn't that a really fast turnaround time for a Beatmania game? I remember that 6th and 7th were about 2 years about, and I'm pretty sure that it was at least a year between 5th and 6th. Guess 7th did extremely good for being a preorder only game.

So in the second half of November we have:

- 1 new PopN game
- 1 new IIDX game
- 2 new DDR games

Thats an obscene quantity of Bemani in such a small time frame!

(Assuming what I'm assuming about UM2) This is the best Bemani news of the year! And I have to say it, 11/18 + 2 days shipping/transit = 20, November. Did they do that on purpose?

Just because of konami's habits with Pop'N, i wouldn't be surprised for PNM 12 to be announced soon, I wouldn't even be surprised if it was announced next week!

This is great! I hope we see some new Dancemania songs and Senorita and all the other songs that were left out of the CS games (thought I guess hoping for Petit Love is asking a lot).

Festival Collection...Upgrade to Party Collection. That's funny/clever nomenclature. I wonder what non-Konami-Original songs they'll have on that...because I doubt that the licensed songs on US Extreme will make it onto Festival. We'll have to wait I guess.

Off-topic: Looking at the website further, I'm wondering what the heck a NEO CONTORA is?
