it seems like a good idea sense people DO like to make introductions and its not allowed in random shoveing them in with ALL the ddr talk is just confuseing and pushes the legitimate ddr topics off of the top page.

There is an Announcement in the first forum because that is the first forum people see, most of the activity created by new people will be there. No topics should be shoved, because "Hi, I am new" threads aren't allowed, unless it's a regional forum. Everything goes in the announcement. A entire forum to "Hi, I am new" isn't practical. Hence the reason for the Announcement.

Hmm.. that actually doesnt sound like a bad idea. I might run it by the SE crowd and see what they think of a stickied 'Hi Im new here" thread.

then maybe removeing introductions form the list of things the ddr forum is for should happen? snes apparently its not for introductions

I think you are trying to say get rid of the announcement. Which isn't practical. Like I said, generally new people post in the first forum they see, the Announcement is the first thread. It gravitates them there.
