#1 most important thing to getting good scores on ITG: If your playing on ITG1, don't. You'll never get good. ITG1's syncing was that bad.

ITG 1 was just really late compared to DDR so everyone was all butthurt about it (except for Mellow and jesus you had to step early for that). I'd rather have late then early (personal preference). Get the beat of the song in your head, and then use that as a guideline for when to step (because most songs are slightly off, so you'll need to visually adjust).

djpreacher, you're just making yourself look stupid. Saying or quoting the same exact thing more than once is just stupid, and there wasn't any point or truth or winning arguement in it.

Anyway, you should probably play stuff on Hard and go for **/***s first.

And about the syncing:

-Is ITG1 on-sync? What about the console version (please don't mention the timing window change)?
-Are ITG2 dedicabs also synced properly? I've heard that they're a little offsync in a thread here before.

dedicabs are synced a little differently than upgrades, they feel a little more on to me, but it prolly comes down to what you're used to.
and as far as djpreacher goes, he got a few warning points for a random chat thread, so he should be good for a while ^^

Wow, I didn't even have to edit your quote and this one still looks kinds dumb. In case you're wondering, the ostensible reason for your loss of face is that you are engaging in hastily written, purely ad hominem posts. That is, your entire post is an attack, and adding exclamation marks will not help make your case.

Personally, I find that alternating between musical games helps me play better, especially since a round of DDR can really make you appreciate how forgiving the ITG/ITG2 machine really is. Also, do yourself a favor and play when the arcade is empty. Noise pollution makes that beat so difficult to follow.[/b]

Moving on, because this is about scoring well.

Bar raping is something I rarely approve of. I recommend it for when your legs get tired. When your arms tire, stop holding the bar. biggrin.gif

Thoughts?

With the exception of a couple songs (*&^(^&% Walking On Fire SOOOOOOO late; Torn seems off, but I haven't really figured out in what direction yet), ITG PS2 seems pretty well-synced to me.

As for ITG2, I've heard that literally every machine is different, but I have no experience to say for myself.

I've noticed that Driving Force Classical is way late on ITG1 for PS2 (you can even tell by watching the cursor move to the beat when selecting the song), and Oasis is late as well. I also question Don't Promise Me (Happiness). However, nothing is synched as badly as D2R on Extreme.

Say what, people? I've always thought the ITG 1 songs were early, and certainly not late. I'm always finding myself getting most Fantastics when I'm immediately striking the beat and getting lots of Excellents from slightly dragging because of how much I'm used DDR stepcharts sinking into the beat. Seriously, just use Assist Tick with the official Stepmania simfiles and try to tell me the notes are late.

itg charts are early compared to ddr charts as a whole because ddr syncs near the end of the beat whereas itg syncs to the center of the beat. he's talking late relative to the center of the beat, which may or maynot be early compared to some ddr songs.

I'm fairly sure DDR likes to sync stuff early, sort of like IIDX but not such an extreme degree.

Anything synched to the assist tick comes far too early. Bugs the hell out of me, too.

When you rip the songs from the game, yes, they are early. If you play with a pad on home version with a good response time, then yes, they are early. If you take ITG1 simfiles from anywhere else, they are poorly synced with wrong bpms, and even sometimes, wrong arrow patterns. If you play ITG1 in the arcade, then they are later than hell. Its like Tough Enough on a dedicab, only every song, excluding Tough Enough itself, which is like a quarter beat off.
