I know there's a lot of "practice nub" responses to questions in a similar style to the following, but just hear me out -

Which mix has the best songs for trying to break the 5-6 barrier? I've been practicing a lot in RED lately and getting better at some of the 5s that were beating me up, but I still have a hard time with some of them, especially the ones in 7K.

I think I might just hammer away at Drill Mode some to try and fix the problems I'm having, such as sections where you alternate on eighth notes with a pair of keys and then a third separate key:

I had a hell of a hard time passing that until I started using pointer and thumb of one hand for the two side by and then pointer OR thumb of other hand to hit the single note.

Well, I decided to go and make an all-new problem for myself, so it's probably just as well that I'm hitting Drill Mode.

I decided to go 2P to match my DDR tendency. It's been very tricky to keep up, and for the most part my scores have definitely taken a hit. The worst thing I have to learn now is hitting the righthand white keys at the same time as the turntable. Basically, pinky-scratching on my other hand.

Cutriss, if you're used to playing BM 5k you might as well play 2p side unless you want to play on center mode for BM the Final. Chords just takes time to get used to. I suggest playing stuff on Random. Sometimes random can get super easy or hard.

I just got my IIDX controller and.... damn now I realise what everyone was saying about it being hard . Right now the only song I can pass is 5.1.1. Normal (with a AA ) But what other songs do you recomend for begginers?

I was wondering what the typical play style for high level players was. Right now, I only use index, middle, ring fingers for the keys and then the pinky for the turntable. Anytime I try to use my thumbs, it feel so unnatural. So...

Any good players that don't often use pinky, thumb?
Pecking the keys vs resting fingers... is the a common preference?

As of now, I can pass a good chunk of the 6's in RED, but not very well. I just need to know if my continued style will work for harder songs.

Play with whatever that is comfortable to you. I play 2p side. so.. yeah.. I playing with my pinky and thumbs.

I just AAA'd Still My Words [7K-ran] and i don't want to lose that score (i am nowhere near being able to AAA 7K stuff so how this happened i don't know) , or format my memory card for that matter.

Okay guys, i bought BMU at the store about a week ago and i've been playing alot..

but i HATE the song list...i've been looking around and IIDX Red, and IIDX Happy Sky both appeal to me in the song list (yes i suck at the game...but i can force myself to improve) I've already modded my controller...so the question is...should i try to get the games new or used? i dont really want to pay like 130 $ for both games so yeah..

also...i've noticed that people play with their fingers like curved, wheras i play flat, but its so sloppy and i have trouble hitting the notes...so hould i try to play pointed?

yeah any help is appreciated thanks..

oh yeah ps..if i buy any japanese games...it's red/happy sky, so please dont tell me to get a different style unless its nesscesarry..

Well, if you can find them used, go for it.

As for playing with curved fingers, I found it to be helpful. I originally started playing flat fingered, but it just feels sloppy. I think it's much easier to peck the keys instead of playing by resting hands on the keyboard. To make it easier to work with (assuming you play with the controller on a table), either sit up higher or stand so your elbows are level or higher than your hands. Test it out to see if it feels right.

so i was looking at VJ Army's IIDXicon to find out how to unlock the gallery images and i noticed it has "kyu" and "dan"

what are they? I figured out what the kyu courses are, but how do i access the dan courses?

I had a IIDX gameplay video on youtube removed because lilith records claimed it was copyright infringement because it was titled BAD BOY BASS!! (dj REMO-CON Mix). As far as I can tell, the song is by a completely different Remo-Con than the one under the record label making the claim. Can anyone back me up on this?
