I've played on what was possibly the most out-of-shape cobalt flux in history; it took 2 days of 7 hours of playing to get it to where is was working right, and I never felt comfortable on it, but after simply beating the living jeebus out of it for 14 hours, I managed to debow, rewire, and essentially perfect it without ever opening it up.
So just beat the living poopy out of it; I have a friend who got a new CF a couple months ago who's AAA'ing 10's on it, but then again, he also SDG'ed PSMO on a tx1000, so maybe he's just a pad-god. _________________

Everyone says CF's are amazing just from watching his videos when they've never even played on one themselves. He can AAA TLOM and Cartoon Heroes on a modded softpad...seriously. |

Ok so I got my new cobalt flux and it was working perfect. Then the left arrow started to give random misses. Then I cleaned it and it wouldnt work at all. Ever time I unplugged the control box it kept on hitting the x button. But when I tried to use it it wouldnt work at all(the pad that is) what should I do or how can I fix it.
IM SO FUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKINGGGGGGG MAD frick YOU COBALT FLUX _________________

I have been doing a lot of work on my CFs lately, and I've found exactly what causes pad NCs. In my case, there is more than one factor.
The thing is that my CFs are more than a year and a half old and only started doing this a few months ago. In other words, this info might not be very helpful or relevant to new CF owners who are having problems with pad NCs after only a short time. But who knows, maybe it's the same problem in both cases.
The main problem is that over time, the sheet metal becomes corroded just from normal use. I have found several ways around this, but again, they probably wouldn't be of much use to new CF owners. However, I'll be making a detailed post about it anyway, sometime in the near future. So stay tuned.
Edit: I'm actually half-tempted to get a new CF just so I can find out what sucks about them. Or better yet, I wish someone with a bad CF could send theirs to me so I could look at it. _________________

Ok I figured out why mine isnt responding. I was randomling laying on my pad unscrewing stuff to see if there was anything in it...... When the song wheel starts moving Im like eureka. Then I tried moving the song wheel again no luck Then I pushed the green button (the only one you can use to select stuff on itg) and tried to move it and for some reason it moved. SO the only thing I have to do is put weight on the select button and move it its pretty dumb but oh well. My mom called cf and said its my control box. But its not I borrowed devons and it still didnt work. I dont know whats up with these fluxes anymore. More details to come into the future. And AAbob I though the sheet metal would last a really long time. _________________
