if you play flat footed and feel fine doing it.. then keep playing flat footed.. if you play with your toes and your good at it.. then stick with your toes.... |
Except toe play means you'll suffer on faster streams. Can you imagine a toe-player doing Determinator? Or even Summer? |

I find flat foot more appropriate for energy saving. Heel-toe stepping is also a nice energy saver. _________________

I play ITG the same way I play DDR, flat footed, except when there are fast high streams notes I tend to use my toes for those parts. _________________

To me it seems like flatfooted helps you keep your stamina, I've seen some ITG vids that I don't think would have been possible playing on toes. Personally, I play on my toes, but it makes some things (in DDR) very hard to pass for me, or even impossible to pass. I hope to be able to adapt to flat footed play soon. _________________

I've been trying to start flatfooting lately, but I haven't ever had the will to continue practicing it because I just keep sliding my feet on the mat, resulting in generally clumsy foot movement. Are there any tips that I can use to avoid this? _________________

Play easier songs (maybe 7s and 8s), paying more attention to flatfooting than scoring. Lift your feet slightly, just enough so that you don't drag them (although if the pad is slippery enough, you can get away with just shuffling your feet without lifting them).
Remember to step close to the center panel. Step on the right side of the left arrow and the left side of the right arrow. On candle steps between the up and down arrow (e.g. ULD) hit the up arrow with your toes (your heel should hit the center panel) and the down arrow with your heel (your toes should hit the center panel).
And it does feel really weird at first, but if you keep at it, it will eventually feel natural. _________________

I can ** Let Me Be the One without even moving (Extreme flatfoot + heel toe)
All I have to say is, moving feet less = good _________________
