The 't' is pronounce in Japanese, but "ts" does not appear at the start of any native English words, so people don't like to pronounce it that way.
I want to know how people pronounce "!". My stepfile for it is labeled "bang" and I've seen it called "bang" before on the forums... but how do you get "bang" out of "!"?
BTW, best sentence ever:
Have you ever played !? X-D |
! in computer code (IIRC) is pronounced as Bang. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

In bash/perl/etc. scripts, you have to start the file with a pointer to whatever interpreter you're using.
#!/bin/bash or #!/bin/tcsh for shell scripts
#!/usr/bin/perl for perl scripts
even #!/usr/bin/php even works for php scripts.
Long story short, people talk with their mouth's, and not their IMs (gasp!) and they needed a way to pronounce #!. I don't remember specifically the reasoning, but It turned out to be ShaBang.
I believe because hash / sha, and the exclamation was a BANG! (Also because it vaguely looks like a bullet leaving a chamber.

I say it like StOOpidBaka, except I use a dh sound at the end. The dh sound is like the beginning "th" in "the". |

Good to know on the Fleadh. I prounounced it
fled-eth
I hate to bring back the Sakura part again, but in the Street Fighter II anime, the character Sakura's name was pronounced
sock-er-ah
IDK how people are going to say that out loud because I just thought of 2 different ways to say it with that pronounciation, but that's the only way I can think of writing it phoenetically. You should be pronouncing it
Sock - as in what you wear on your feet
Er - as in errrrrrrrrr? and the "er" in banter
Ah - as in.....mama
No emphasis on any of the syllables, just one even flow. Sakura.
If you look up the pronounciation of "Tsugaru", the person will say it
Tet-sug-ar-rew
However, I looked that up with an American translator, so that's most likely the wrong one. Why would you pronounce the "t" in Tsugaru but not in Tsunami? I just say it
Su-gar-rew
I have heard it pronounced
Tsu-gar-rew
Which annoys the crap out of me. Ok, I think I've posted enough for one post.
PS:
Xuxa will always be zu-zah to me. _________________
