On October 14th through October 17th, Expo International is running the first video game convention for the general public in the New York City area at the DigitalLife convention located at the Jacob Javits convention Center in New York City. It is expected that up to 50,000 people will attend.
Here at the DigitalLife convention, there will be a National DDR Championship with the top prize of $1000. With sponsors such as Cobalt Flux, Red Octane, Desktop Arcade, Play-Asia and many more.
Pre-Registration can be found at the ddreastcoast website, along with more information about the tournament. The most recent information on DDR Freak can be found in the thread in the New York forum. _________________

It says 'national', but for people here on the west it will be nearly impossible to attend. _________________

Just to nitpick.. just because people are coming from various states in the nation doesn't necessarily mean a tournament is "national". National would imply something bigger than just a single tournament in a single location. _________________

They generally have multiple campuses that serve several parts of their respective states. _________________

I will admit the name is apart of the overall marketing of the event, but does consider first if people from all over are coming. |

I live on LI, and if me and a bunch of my friends wanted to go just to watch the people play there and check everything out, does anyone know if we'd need anything to get in there? |

You will need tickets to Digital Life, contact me at rentals@ddreastcoast.com and I will be able to get you promotional prices for tickets if you prepay. |

I possibly have Jury duty the 18th, so I can't go even if I want to.
However, I think the Expert division needs some clearing up...I got a little confused when someone from NC/VA that I know of gave me a link to the place.
Also, please get the information pages up. _________________

Lol.
Arizona had a national tourney and we gave a Extreme machine as 1st place and 1000bucks for 1st place for freestyle. And we had like only 100 people. IF that, show up and enter.
Just a thought. |

My first tournament had 91 paid people show up with over 100 attendees. Second had between 110 and 120 paid people with over 150 attendees. At current rate of registration this year will beat both. |

So the people registered for the tournament just say when they walk in that they are registered, or do they have to present something or what? _________________

Anti-perspirant and a good diet could cost how many millions of dollars? While a simple black T-shirt costs me $3 at Walgreens.

Very soon, probably within a week or so, I will be paying Digital life for a large block of tickets and sending them all the names and email addresses of registered DDR in NYC people. They will then email the E Ticket to everyone, same as if you bought the ticket through their website. You print this and bring it to you at the convention. This also applies to people who go through me for just tickets.
As a reminder, anyone who only registers for Ironman must seperatly purchase a digital life ticket, either througn myself or them. So far everyone who entered Ironman has registered for Regular Expert or Freestyle so no one has done that as of yet. |
