Check out the Sticky Thread for the most complete listing of information on all to most of the metal pads out there today at: http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=56040

I bought a metal pad this year as well, but the thing literally died on me after 3 hours of gameplay and I've seen first hand that the arrows do crack after so many hours of gameplay, especially if you wear shoes while playing. Now, not all metal pads are bad, and not all arrows will crack on you, but to be totally honest, I haven't found 1 good metal pad that I would spend money on yet. Now, some might argue for the Colbalt Flux, Red Octane or maybe another brand X metal pad out there, but it comes down to you making the choice; Do I want to spend $100-300 per pad? (not including shipping which is usually over $40 per pad or more) Or do you want to build your own?

I personally recommend either building your own metal pad for much less than most retail metal pads available, and will work a lot better in the long run, since any problems with the pad can be fixed by you. Or go with an ignition pad, which have 1" of foam in them and work great, as I have 2 RO Ignition pads. Hope that helps, best of luck with your decision.
