I tried that KeyboardMania 3rd mix machine at AI a few days ago. That game REALLY ROCKS! Too bad this may be the last of its kind. Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

Hey, glad you like KBM, but, really, you don't have to trip.
As for Pressure Mode
You need to hold the rightmost F#, G#, and A# on the 1st player side as well as the start button for the 2nd player side (so, in total, 1P righmost black keys and 2P Start Button. You need to hold down 4 buttons). This must be done during the hardware test when the machine starts up. There should be someone who says "Play." Along with Pressure Mode being unlocked, The Least 100 Sec and Fur Elise wiill be unlocked for play (which would explain that video on Bemanix... ). Usao-Kun will also appear in the top-right corner of the title screen if you entered the code right. _________________

Ah, sorry about not including that. As soon as you enter a credit and go to the Main Menu (where you select a difficulty), hold down the Effector Wheel. The time will start running out, but it should go down and highlight Pressure Mode. _________________

Oicic, I must try that out next time I'm at the arcade. Sorry about all the questions, but what are the songs in the different modes? I mean, other than J-vocal one, the others aren't really obvious to me... _________________

Wheee, I tried Pressure Mode. Played J-Vocal Selection twice. Failed on the last song on first time, but passed everything the second time with like 10% left. Haha, the high score at my arcade is so easy to get on because of the low scores. I'm second on J-Vocal with a score of 4,2xx,xxx...haha _________________

Ahh, so it worked, then. I'm still in the process of trying to pass Impossible? Selection. _________________

Ack x.X
I can't beat those songs in normal Real mode anyways, with the exception of Carezza. Ack...Man, I really wanna be able to play double better. The only song I can beat on double is Henry Henry. Light+ of course. Do you play double? any tips? _________________

Yes, I do play double. Recent achievement being Akumajo on Real.
As for tips...well, I'm an actual piano player, so I wouldn't get through to you with my piano lingo. But here's some common things to do...
If you're looking at doing doubles long-term, keep your wrists up. Blood circulation is better that way. Try to keep your wrists parallel to the keys.
Try to keep your elbows out. If they're too close to your body, you will tire out as well.
Get used to looking ahead. Don't wait for a note to land on the red bar before you take your eyes off of it and ready the next note. Listen to the music, predict the timing, and prepare early for the next notes. This will take some time to get used to, but it's very helpful when you want to start learning harder songs.
Auto-play is fine. As a matter of fact, I recommend it. Start off with the right side playing and the left auto. The right has the melody (most of the time), so you want to get how the song goes. Also, songs played on Single may differ to that on Doubles. Always look for differences. Once you've tackled that, try to play the right side one-handed as it's curcial when you start playing both parts. If you think you've got it down, switch. Depending on what hand you are (or what hand you're good at using), the time consumption and difficulty of this process will vary. Obviously, you're not going to pick it up the first time around. But hey, that's how I went about it. Practice Practice Practice.
Above all. Relax. If you tense up, you tire easily. This applies to majority of the Bemanis as well.
Hope it helps. It sure worked for me. _________________

Hmmm....yea, that helps. And, yea, I'm an actual piano player too. It's just, I guess you're right, I tense up too much. Especially when friends are watching. I find it so much harder on the machine. Cuz I can play Midore no Kaze real mode on a real piano with the sheet music. But I've tried it on aracade and obviously didn't work.
Haha, but thanks for the tips...
Any suggestions on what songs to start on Light+ double? Like I said, all I can beat is Henry Henry. I'm close to beating Shiritori but I always mess up near the end... _________________

The site I grabbed them for is gone now, and I think many more stop hosting them. But if you search for some, I'm pretty sure you'll still find remnants. _________________

I can't get into this game. It never really interested me that much once I got it. Too many keys, I guess I could get used to it, but I'm fine with IIDX, or just really used to it. I guess that's what I'm selling it... Anyone interested?

It's funny because I actually play a bit of keyboard along with some other intruments, but for some reason, this one... ehh! Oh well.

Yo.
Keyboard Mania looks to me like another great Bemani game. But I must first know if there are any games you guys reccomend I get good at before I start. I think IIDX and Pop'n would help a lot before I got KBM, what do you think? |
