Does the new caching system affect Latest Post markers? I would lean toward "no", since the "problem" I seem to be having has been going on for some time now, well before the new system was implemented.
Lately I've been having problems with threads I've read showing as being unread, despite the fact that I've read it up to the point where it is already, sometimes twice or three times, just because I clicked on it anyway. I'm using Moz 1.4.
It's hardly a big deal, really, but I just thought I'd ask. _________________

I don't think it's related to Latest Post markers. Yeah, I've experienced what you are talking about... I don't know the cause since it's not easily reproduceable. _________________

Ye freaking gods...
Moz has mostly timed out while doing pageloads all morning today. I eventually had to switch to IE, since it seems to have more tolerance for this sort of thing. Packet loss from me to DDRFreak has been at around 25% or so ever since 10 AM CST...and the packets that have gotten through have a latency generally higher than 800ms. It has lightened up a bit in the past few minutes, but suffice it to say that I've only been able to make one post the entire time, after trying for an hour.
Loading Slashdot and Google has been working fine.
I know the peak hours of DDRFreak are in the evenings...so unless everyone decided to skip school and work today and visit the site all at once... _________________

Have you tried to traceroute to ddrfreak to see where your packet loss is coming from?
I am getting 0% packet loss.
Edit: Just for the heck of it, I decided to ping (from ddrfreak.com) the IP with which you wrote the latest post, and I am getting 9%., with an avg ping of 290 ms. _________________

Trace complete. | Looks like Cogent is having some problems with data corruption on the link between Cogent and Level 3 Communications. I've had a couple requests elsewhere give me HTTP 400 errors, but it was to LiveJournal, and LJ isn't exactly a pinnacle of reliability these days... _________________

Well... seeing that it's a network problem, there's nothing I can really do about it. Hopefully it gets better. _________________
