I got one of these emails today. I thought it was odd, since I didn't get the pop-up alert on the forums.
But I went to check my PMs anyway. The most recent PM in my Inbox is from Tuesday, the 22nd.
I'm curious as to how this happened. Did I get sent a email notification by mistake, or did someone send me a PM that got lost somewhere along the way? |

I've had this happen to me twice before. I always made the assumption that someone was going to send a PM, but deleted the PM once it was in their Outbox, which was why I got the email but no message in my box.
Don't know if it's the right concept, but it sounds like a solid enough idea! _________________

Yeah, those were mine. I was asking you out. (Kidding, kidding...)
I've noticed that stuff in the outbox stays there for quite some time, sometimes even a week, before getting sent away. If the recipient does not have room in their inbox for my PM, it just sits there and waits I guess. The PM becomes dated and is no longer relevant sometimes.
If the recipient has lots of room, when exactly does a PM get sent? What's this delay in the outbox all about? |

When a message is created and sent to your Outbox, it will remain there until the person retrieves their messages. That's a good way to tell if someone has received your message or not.
Once a message has been received by the person (by viewing their new private messages), it will move into your Sent box.
It's not quite like email, but similar concept.
And sorry, Drenchfur, I'm a happily taken woman. _________________
