So, I bought a external number pad. I was planning on using it for SM, but if I use it SM goes nuts. Gives errors left and right, and I am not the best with external hardware.

Works fine in DWI though. Anybody?

Ok new question - I read the readme for Stepmania and I didn't see it. How does the whole Hidden Stage thing work?

Question tho - why do all the mods get mad at me for kidding around? (Like Tamarik and ...crap I forgot) they HATE me...and I can't figure out y...

Ok seriously, if you can't take this a simple fun joke then tell me and i'll stop saying it. But really I think you guys need to lighten up. I mean this is a forum for chat about a video game. There's no need to be so serious on here. There's nothing wrong with kidding around. Seriousness should be put on at school or the work place, besides, being too serious is not good for your social health. It alienates your friends, family and people you could meet. So basically just kick back, remember where you are.

Anywayz back on topic. I just got Stepmania to work just now. But I do have questions about it. Where can I find info on how to work the CVS release crap? Stuff like the scoreboards (how do you change the name instead of Type A etc.), how does the hidden stage work, and how does the coin system work. I've checked all over this forum and I can't find a thing. The readme doesn't tell me anything new either, help me!

Ok, I'm full of questions about Stepmania. I downloaded and installed both the Max 2 and Extreme skins for Stepmania. Just about nothing about them shows up. Basically the background picture in the song selection and the music for it works. That's it. Nothing else shows up! When i install the Extreme, it's like playing SMMax with a green bg, or black for Max2. Help plz, Gracias.

Max2 anouncer macp is the same as extreme. And here's two bugs in the stepmania TRICKY NONSTOP COURSE

1. The banner is the banner of Bye Bye Baby Balloon
2. The expand modifier duing the second song doesn't work.

All right, I've scanned all 9 pages of the topic and I don't think this has been asked yet. If it has, I apologize.

Anyway, I just bought a new computer, and DWI doesn't work on it. The only changes I would think that mattered are upgrading from Win98 to XP and changing from a Radeon 7000 Pro video card to an S3 Prosavage8. I don't know much about the Prosavage, so I don't know whether I should bother putting the Radeon back in, it's a pain to set up. Basically, DWI starts to load up, then Windows gives me an error message (DWI2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, yadda yadda yadda) as soon as it does. When trying to start it in full-screen, it doens't even give the error message (changes resolutions, then pops back to normal, that's it).
I can run it in sdl mode, but it runs considerably worse. I definitely notice a change in the quality of the graphics, most of the banners are replaced by pieces of the song's background instead, and it feels like the arrows are always slightly behind the music. To sum up, I really don't like playing in sdl mode.

I've tried switching to SM, but the graphics are weird and the arrows don't show up right while playing. It's hard to explain, I'd have to redownload and give a screenshot or something.

Any help for either problem (I'd prefer to stay with DWI, but I'll use Step if I have to).

well this theread has been dead for awhile almost a year nd i only have one problem.

I have DWI the most recent version.
The problem is that i put all my song folders in my Default fodler inside the song folder

Songs-->Default-->Song Folders

They all have matching names
I have all of three necessary files (.dwi,bg,banner)
They all have matching names

BUT THEY DO NOT SHOW UP ON THE GAME

i looked at the faq,the thread, the readme and i followed all the instructions. PLz help me

i know where to get mp3's
but the readme stated that the mp3's or wav.'s were optional

so all i have to do is jus dl the mp3s nd place them with their corrisponding folders
